EDGE OF DARKNESS

This series explores the connection between light and dark, survival and loss. Through contrasts of shadow and light, it portrays animals' fragility and resilience, reflecting conservation's challenges and the enduring hope to protect and preserve.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Donal Boyd is a conservation photographer and filmmaker whose portrait-driven work explores the emotional and ecological connections between humans, wildlife, and place. Through both intimate and environmental studies, his images communicate the fragility of life on Earth while celebrating the resilience of those who protect it. Across collections exhibited in São Paulo, London, Amsterdam, and online, Boyd uses visual storytelling as a form of advocacy—inviting viewers to see not just the beauty of nature, but the stakes of its disappearance.

Donal’s imagery has directly contributed to raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for wildlife and nature.

Through print sales, visual artworks, and conservation campaigns around the globe in collaboration with conservation partners, charities, and galleries, Donal fulfils his mission of supporting Conservation Through Visual Advocacy
